Marc's New House

Last week, Marc told me that he bought a house.  He has been looking since last September.  It has been awhile, and many many houses later, he finally found one that he likes.  His new house is pictured above.  I have not seen the house in person, but the pictures are very cute.  The house is "livable," but there is some updating to be done.  The house has three bedrooms and one and one-half bathrooms.

Marc has his home inspection a few days ago.  Everything looked very good.  There are two things that he needs to have the previous owners fix.  Some of the pictures of the house are below.  I will call these the "before" pictures.  Marc is closing in mid-April, and he will be out of his apartment in May.  My apartment lease is done in August.  Laura and I talked previously.  She has decided to purchase a townhouse, and I will be moving in with Marc.

The picture are of the finished basement, bathroom, kitchen, and living room.  Marc has been plans for these rooms.  In the basement, he would like to get rid of the paneling and put up dry-wall.  He completly wants to re-do the bathroom.  He says the tile is the color of urine.  Not very flattering.  He would like to put ceramic tile down in the bathroom and the kitchen.  Also in the kitchen, Marc want to get new cabinets and update the appliances.  The rest of the house is carpeted like the living room.  He would like to rip up the carpet and refinish the hardwood floors that are underneath.

The house is in Ross Township, which is north of Pittsburgh.  We will have a ten to twenty minute commute to our offices downtown.  The neighborhood seems very quiet and family oriented.  The house is located on a dead-end street, so it is not heavily traveled.  I can't wait to start formulating decorating ideas!
